Choosing Colors for Charts

In Uncategorized on April 2, 2011 at 10:38 am

I have been visiting Utah this past month and the colors of the landscape have inspired me in my creative efforts.  I love the greens of the trees and the red-oranges and tans of the stones, especially contrasted against the crisp whiteness of the snow.  There’s so much natural beauty to see.

I often get caught up in looking at architecture at home and forget to enjoy my natural surroundings.  Since this area is much less settled than Northwest Georgia, there’s a lot more natural beauty evident!  But, when I get home, I am going to remember to enjoy the trees, flowers, and the rocks more.

What inspires you?  Do you prefer natural colors or more man-made colors?  Do you like to stitch landscapes or city views?

  1. My wardrobe and stitching colors steer towards natural colors. I love earth tones. I’m very attracted to muted pinks, earthy browns, dark and sage greens, slate colred water, etc. However I think I need more color in my life! Purples are a fave so I would like to incorporate more of those in my work.
